The challenge
Nord Anglia Education (NAE) is a global family of international schools committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning. In 2021, we were brought in to help increase staff engagement with Nord Anglia University (NAU), the group’s internal professional learning platform.
By 2023, our remit expanded. The goal was not only to boost platform engagement, but to help embed professional learning as a cultural priority across the organisation, supporting NAE’s ambition to be recognised as a global leader in staff development. The challenge lay in turning professional learning from a resource into a shared habit, at scale, across 13,000 staff and 80+ schools worldwide.
Our approach
Our work began with research. We identified key audience segments across the global staff base and surfaced common barriers to using NAU. From this, we shaped a strategy rooted in behavioural science, leveraging proven behavioural levers to encourage sustained, everyday engagement with professional learning.
We developed a clear and motivating internal campaign identity, tested messaging routes with teachers, and refined our approach based on their feedback. The result was a campaign that felt relevant, supportive and aligned with the real-world experiences of school staff.
To support senior leadership, we ran a series of webinars on behaviour and culture change, equipping Principals and SLT members with the tools to champion and embed professional learning across their schools.
Our work raised the profile of professional learning across the organisation, supported a significant cultural shift, and helped schools see NAU not just as a platform, but as a powerful tool for ongoing development and collaboration.
